MAGNETIC RESONANCE IMAGING OF THE BRAIN

Axial T1 & T2, followed by contrast enhanced axial, coronal and sagittal T1 images.

Large contrast enhancing tumor mass in the nasopharynx with extension into the skull base and Lt cavernous sinus. The tumor is 5 x 6 cm in size.

The cerebral parenchymal signal intensity is normal. No mass effect, midline shift or hydrocephalus. There is infiltration of the pituitary fossa. The cerebellum, brainstem and cranio-cervical junction are normal.

IMP. The findings are consistent with NPC with Lt cavernous sinuis infiltration.

Patient is advised to bring old films for comparison.
